Discussion Points (Post Five)
I think the future of mobile will be even more integration with everyday things and objects. I can imagine it will be the norm to pay for everything with your phone and become “Digital Currency”. Electronic companies will build products that are compatible with the various OS which smart phones and tablets use out the box.
It wouldn’t surprise me if you docked your smartphone into an area in the house and it operated everything from water to the fridge temperature and then paying for bills. Anything is possible and the applications for usage is a minefield. It sounds a bit farfetched but my point is the possibilities with the hardware and software are unimaginable and endless.
There are various reasons why websites that have been optimised are important. Websites need to provide seamless browsing experiences otherwise it will not keep the attention span of any user. Consumers, hobbyists, collectors, pretty much anyone with a mobile device will want ease of use. Our expectations are very high because we all have been exposed to cutting edge technology with the introduction of smart phones and tablets.
Web advertising seems to rely on the available space on a webpage. The majority of sites have a decent amount of room to advertise. With mobile I believe that advertising has to be more personal and engaging, through in app ads, (iAds iPhone), google search and listing, ads based on location etc.
It is possible for mobile advertising to have a negative impact aswell because our phones are a little more personal, whereas online, on the web you almost expect to see adverts pasted on the side or as part of the banner.
